What is included in the rental price?
The options included in the rental price may vary depending on the chosen rate. In general, the standard rate includes: unlimited mileage, Medium Protection Package (damage excess reduction), vehicle circulation tax, and 22% VAT. For full details, please refer to our Standard Price List.

What are the rental requirements?
To rent a vehicle you need: minimum driver age of 21 (25 for certain vehicle categories), maximum age 80, a valid driving licence held for at least 12 months, a valid identity document, and a credit card in the driver's name. For customers with a non-EU licence, an international driving permit is recommended.

Is it necessary to provide the flight number?
For airport pickups, it is recommended to provide the flight number to ensure timely vehicle delivery. If the flight number is not available at the time of booking, it must be communicated at least 72 hours before pickup.

When and how can I book and pay for extras?
All accessories and supplementary services (child seat, GPS navigator, snow chains, etc.) must be requested during booking. Payment is made at the time of vehicle collection.
Vehicle

How do I know the brand, colour, and fuel type of the vehicle?
The brand, colour, and fuel type of vehicles are not guaranteed. Preferences can be noted at the time of booking, but remain indicative and subject to availability.

What is the fuel policy?
All vehicles are delivered with a full tank and must be returned with the same fuel level. Otherwise, the missing fuel will be charged to the customer along with the refuelling service fee.

What types of credit cards are accepted?
We accept the following credit cards: Visa Classic/Gold, American Express (AMEX), and Mastercard. For certain luxury vehicle categories, two credit cards may be required.

Can I pay in cash?
Yes, cash is also accepted, in addition to credit cards and debit cards (Visa Classic/Gold, AMEX, Mastercard).

Can I use a credit card from someone other than the main driver?
Yes, it is possible to sign a credit card authorisation form. For details and the procedure, please contact our offices.

How does currency conversion work for foreign customers?
All payments are converted at the current local exchange rate. Ciao Rent Car is not responsible for the currency conversion applied by the customer's bank.
Deposit and Security

Is a security deposit held on the credit card?
Yes, a security deposit is held on the credit card at the time of collection. The amount depends on the vehicle group, the rental amount, and the chosen insurance coverage.

How long will it take for the deposit to be released?
The security deposit is released at the time of settlement by the company. To speed up the process, it is advisable to contact your bank directly.

Is it possible to reduce the deposit?
Yes, it is possible to reduce or eliminate the deposit by purchasing supplementary insurance that reduces or eliminates the excess (Medium Protection or Full Protection).
